📖 About the ARC Process
What is an ARC?
An ARC (Advance Review Copy) is an early version of my book, sent to readers before the official release. It may still have minor typos or formatting quirks, but the story is complete. Why do you send ARCs?
ARCs help create early buzz and give readers a chance to share honest reviews before launch day. Reviews and feedback are invaluable in helping my book reach more readers. How do I receive the ARC?
You will be informed via email if you’ve been selected. Once you’re approved, you’ll receive either a digital file (EPUB/PDF/MOBI) or, if available, a physical copy. I’ll send clear instructions when I share the ARC.
✍️ Expectations from ARC Readers
What do you expect from me as an ARC reader?
I simply ask that you read the book and, if you enjoy it, leave an honest review on platforms like Amazon, Goodreads, Storygraph or BookBub. Sharing on social media is an added bonus but never a requirement.Do I have to leave a positive review?
Not at all. I only ask for an honest review. Whether you loved it, liked parts of it, or struggled with it, your feedback helps me and future readers. Is there a deadline for posting my review?
Ideally, reviews should go up around launch week, but if you need more time, that’s completely fine. Just let me know if you’ll be delayed so I can plan accordingly. What if I DNF (did not finish)?
While I truly hope this will never happen, I am aware enough to know that it is possible. No author has a writing style that everyone will love. To me, DNF is feedback as well. I’d love to hear personally why a reader DNF’d my book if this happens so please consider completing the ARC Feedback Form below.
🔒 Confidentiality & Usage
Can I share the ARC with friends or post it online?
Please don’t. ARCs are for personal use only and not to be distributed. Sharing the file could hurt the book’s release and can be damaging to an indie author. If someone you know wants to read it, I’d be happy for them to sign up for the ARC team directly or purchase the book once it’s released. Additionally, agreeing to the confidentiality clauses on the ARC sign up sheet is a requirement so bare this in mind. Can I quote from the ARC on social media?
Yes, but please note that the text may change slightly before final publication. If you share a quote, mark it as from an ARC and tag me so I can reshare your post!
⭐ Reviews & Feedback
Where should I post my review?
The best places are Amazon and Goodreads, but posting anywhere you normally talk about books (Instagram, TikTok, BookBub, personal blogs) is always helpful.Do reviews really matter?
Yes! Reviews are one of the most powerful ways to support authors. They influence online visibility, recommendations, and even whether bookstores stock the book. Can I send you direct feedback instead of posting a public review?
Absolutely. If you’d rather share private feedback, I welcome that too. The ARC Feedback Form can be located below. Just know that public reviews help the book find new readers and is always preferred if you loved the book.
📅 Launch & After Release
Will I get notified when the final version is out?
Yes, I’ll send you a launch-day reminder and links to the official book. The finished version will be polished, formatted, and typo-checked.Will ARC readers get any perks after launch?
Yes! I often run giveaways, sneak peeks of future projects, or early access sign-ups as a thank you for your support.
